The LA Wholesale Produce Market “LAWPM” is a central facility where distributors of fresh (direct from the farm) fruits and vegetables from California, the western U.S. and abroad have leased space in order to take delivery of, and distribute, their produce to various merchants in the greater Los Angeles area. Restaurants and smaller purveyors come to buy their produce direct as well, so LAWPM has a retail, i.e., “point of sale” aspect to their distribution capabilities.
